Obituary
Virginia L. Bollivar, 88, of Chatham,
formerly of McLean, passed away at her daughter’s
home in Chatham in the early morning hours of
Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Services for Virginia will be held at the McLean
United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 9,
2024. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be
followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m.
Virginia’s son-in-law, Rev. Paul Dinges, will
officiate. Burial will follow at McLean Cemetery.
Virginia L. Jackson was born August 14, 1936, in
Kewanee, IL, the daughter of John R. and Lula R.
Osborn Jackson. She was united in marriage to Wayne
A. Bollivar on June 5, 1960, in Wyoming, IL. He
preceded Virginia in death on April 2, 2013.
Virginia is survived by three children: Nancy (Paul)
Dinges, Cynthia (David) Honegger, and David (Linda)
Bollivar; five grandchildren: Miranda (Robert),
Jessica (Cale), Kyle, Brian, and Gregory; four
great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Owen, Arlo, and
Benjamin; and one sister, Beverly Ann Hall. |
She was preceded in death by one
daughter, Deborah; and two brothers, Francis Jackson
and Roger Jackson.
Virginia graduated from Wyoming High School and
Western Illinois University. She first worked as a
PE and Biology Teacher in Tampico, IL and also at
MARC Center in Bloomington. She was well-known in
the Olympia School District from her 20 years as a
bus driver.
She enjoyed embroidery, crochet, quilting, athletics
and bowling. Virginia was a member of the McLean
United Methodist Church and loved her bridge club
and working in her yard.

Church or Sonshine Daycare.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
