West Lincoln Broadwell wins 2024 8th grade county tournament

The
West Lincoln Broadwell Lady Wolverines defeated Mount Pulaski 41-8
on Saturday, November 2nd to win the 2024 8th Grade Girls Logan
County basketball championship in Mount Pulaski.
Sage Gilbert led WLB with 19 points and Grace Bivin tossed in 18
points.
Taylor Short and Paisley Holmes each scored a basket for the Lady
Wolverines to round out the scoring.
In the semifinals of the county tournament WLB defeated CEL 59-10.
WLB improved to 16-0 on the season with the county championship win.
The rest of the season
Earlier in the season the Lady Wolverines won the Washington Central
Tournament with a 3-0 tournament record.
The girls won each game in that tournament by large margins:

Peoria St. Philo 8

Coming up:
On Saturday the Lady Wolverines play in the Lincoln Junior High
School Shootout.
WLB will take on Carrollton St. John’s at 3:15 p.m. and Triad at
7:00 p.m.
The girls still have plenty of basketball left in the regular
season, with games against Glenwood, Morton, Williamsville and
Christ the King remaining on the schedule.
Regionals are set to begin Saturday, November 23, 2024.
And the wins keep coming:
WLB improved to 17-0 with Monday night’s 35-10 win over Clinton.
The girls improved to 18-0 with Wednesday night’s 56-8 win over
Bloomington Cornerstone.
