The
concert also includes work by important women composers of the
period such as Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, a French clavecinist
and Barbara Strozzi, an Italian Singer and composer of cantatas.
The Five Cities Baroque Foundation Ensemble brings together
outstanding area musicians
to perform 17th and 18th century music and present educational
concerts and events in midwestern communities. Nate Widelitz, a
singer and conductor, is the Artistic Director of the ensemble.
The program is free and open to the public. A
reception will follow the performance and provide guests with an
opportunity to meet the musicians. Join us for this first of a kind
event in Mt. Pulaski. It is a rare opportunity to hear music of the
past brought to life.
