Obituary
Dorothy L. Knoeppel, 90, of Elmhurst,
passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 5,
2024.
Services will be held in Atlanta.
Visitation will be held at Quiram-Peasley Funeral
Home on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7
p.m.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, November 11,
2024, at the Atlanta United Methodist Church, at 11
a.m. Rev. Deborah J. Johnston will officiate. Burial
will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery.
Dorothy L. Dyer was born April 10, 1934, in Lincoln,
the daughter of George and Lela Saddler Dyer. She
was united in marriage to Phillip Knoeppel in 1963.
He survives.
Dorothy is also survived by three children: David
(Jacqui) Knoeppel, Jane Beck, and Barbara Knoeppel;
and four grandchildren: Margot, Mallory, Morgan, and
Brittney.

She was preceded in death by one
brother, George “Buster” Dyer.
Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of
Atlanta High School. In 1956 she graduated from
Illinois State University and then completed a
master’s degree in early childhood education. She
worked as a schoolteacher at Proviso West in
Westchester, IL and a pre-school teacher in
Schaumburg. She enjoyed playing cards, working
crossword puzzles, doing crafts, reading and music.
Dorothy was a member of First Methodist Church of
Elmhurst.
Memorials may be made to the Atlanta United
Methodist Church.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
