							Obituary 
							William “Bill” Philo Allin, 93, of 
							McLean, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2024.
 Services for Bill will be at the McLean Christian 
							Church on Friday, November 15, 2024. Visitation will 
							begin at 9:00 a.m. and run until the Funeral 
							Services at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Tony Billingsley will 
							officiate. Burial will follow at the McLean 
							Cemetery.
 
 William Philo Allin was born November 17, 1930, in 
							Lincoln, IL, the son of William Philo and Maybelle 
							Marie Stones Allin. He was united in marriage to 
							Thelma Horath on June 5, 1953. She preceded Bill in 
							death on May 31, 2019.
 
 Bill was also preceded in death by one sister, 
							Virginia Moreland.
 
 He is survived by one niece, Kris (Lloyd) Nash, and 
							one nephew, Ken (Cheryl) Moreland, along with 
							additional extended family and dear friends.
 
 Bill was the last name-bearing descendent of James 
							Allin who settled and plotted out McLean County.

							Bill was exceptionally proud to be 
							the great-grandson of the family who built the first 
							log cabin in McLean County and donated land for the 
							McLean County Courthouse and the surrounding 
							business district. He was a lifelong farmer in 
							McLean County and also worked for the Illinois 
							Central Railroad as an Engineer for 44 years. He was 
							a member of McLean Christian Church and had 
							graduated from McLean High School. Following high 
							school, Bill served in the United States Army from 
							1950 – 1953.
 Memorials may be made to McLean Christian Church or 
							Mt. Hope-Funks Grove Fire Protection District.
 
 Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley 
							Funeral Home of Atlanta.
