Christine Short Edward Jones Branch Office Supports Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois with Diaper Donation Campaign
 

[October 29, 2024]    Christine Short, an Edward Jones financial advisor in Lincoln, is supporting Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois by using her office as a drop-off location for a diaper drive.

To help in this effort, our branch is collecting all brands and sizes of diapers/wipes (larger sizes 4 to 6 are especially welcome).

Local residents may help make a positive impact in the community by bringing items to our Edward Jones office during regular business hours from November 1 to November 27, 2024. Monetary gifts, including gift cards, cannot be accepted.

Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois is a local non—profit organization dedicated to helping local communities. The Early Head Start Center-based programs use thousands of diapers each year. On average, an infant uses 10 diapers per day!

According to the Illinois Department of Human Services, "The USDA does not currently have a waiver for states to allow customers to purchase diapers with SNAP/WIC benefits.”

”Unfortunately, this is a significant burden on our families, and we do whatever we can to help— such as a diaper drive. Therefore, our grant money can be used to help our classrooms and families in other ways such as educational materials, connecting with other resources, and training for our staff to better serve our families" said Head Start Director Kristen Conklen.
