The Hilltoppers defeated Illini Central 59-37
in Ed Butkovich Gymnasium.
Mount Pulaski was on top 12-10 at the end of the first quarter.
Eric Cooper led the Toppers with six points.
The Cougars pulled ahead 26-24 by halftime.
Aaron Kuznik caught fire in the third quarter with three 3s and
he helped guide the Toppers to a 49-35 lead.
The Cougars managed just two free throws in the fourth quarter,
allowing the Toppers to breeze to the 59-37 win.
Eric Cooper led Mount Pulaski with 17 points.
Lamarion Solomon and Aaron Kuznik each added 12 points for the
Toppers.
The Toppers next game is Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. versus
Tri-City.
In earlier tournament games, Clinton defeated Tri-City 58-42 and
Edinburg defeated Litchfield 62-47.
The tournament runs through Saturday with tonight’s schedule as
follows:
5:00 p.m. Delavan vs. Edinburg
6:30 p.m. Tri-City vs. Illini Central
8:00 p.m. Litchfield vs. Auburn
