Hilltoppers defeat Tri-City 63-38
Coach Ryan Deibert notches 200th career win

[November 28, 2024] The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers had three players in double-figures on Wednesday night as they defeated Tri-City 63-38 in the 14th Annual Bill Rucks Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament.   

 

Aaron Kuznik (12), Franklin Wade (12) and Eric Cooper (11) sparked the offense and helped Coach Ryan Deibert earn his 200th career win as the Hilltoppers head coach.

The Hilltoppers found themselves down 7-0 to start the game but by the end of the first quarter the purple and gold held a 10-9 advantage.

Kuznik had the hot hand in the second quarter and his ten points helped the Hilltoppers to a 26-15 lead.

The Tornadoes closed the gap to 35-29 in the third quarter.

Cooper paced the Hilltoppers with nine points in the fourth quarter. Mount Pulaski’s offense was on fire, with Landon Deibert, Keoni Charron and Aaron Volle draining 3s and the team combining to score 28 points.

Great defense also played a big role in the 63-38 win.

The Hilltoppers will play Clinton on Friday night at 8:00 p.m.

Mount Pulaski improves to 2-0 on the season.
