Obituary
Richard W. Rolston, 85, of
Lincoln, passed away September 21, 2024 at his home
surrounded by family.
Richard was born September 1, 1939, in Jacksonville,
IL., the son of Wayne and Bernice Rolston of
Franklin, IL. He graduated from Franklin High School
in 1957 and then enlisted in the United States Air
Force. He was honorably discharged in 1959. He later
retired after many years of working. Richard played
football, was a boxer, and played the saxophone at
one time. He was a firm believer in God and of the
Christian faith. He will be remembered as being a
loving and compassionate husband, father, and papa.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dixie;
daughters Sherry (Gene) Mehan and Kim (Keith)
Brooks; three grandsons, one granddaughter, and two
great granddaughters. |
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024 at Full
Gospel Evangelistic Center. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery with military
rites performed by the American Legion Post 263.
