Area
employers have an opportunity to qualify for professional
development training from Heartland Community College at a reduced
cost.
Heartland is offering professional development training with some of
the cost offset through a grant from the Noncredit Workforce
Training Initiative, sponsored by the Illinois Community College
Board (ICCB).
The grant is available through March 31, 2025, to support employers
seeking professional development (PD) services. Eligible
organizations must be first-time clients or past clients who have
not engaged in our PD services in the last three years.
Heartland’s Business and Industry Solutions team in the Continuing
Education department offers high-quality professional development
classes including Essential Workplace Skills and Fundamental
Supervisory Skills training. Other services include customized
training and consultation services.

The Business and Industry
Solutions team will work with each client to determine the size
of the cost-offset based on the type of professional development
requested.
These non-credit courses are part of the Illinois Community
College Board’s “Behind Every Employer” initiative. The funding
aims to raise awareness in the local workforce of affordable,
high-quality professional development options.
