Mt. Pulaski School Board seeks to fill short term vacancy from November to April 2025 election

[October 04, 2024]    Mt. Pulaski CUSD 23 is accepting applications to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Deanne Mott from the School Board.

Mission Statement: We engage and inspire students to become mindful and productive citizens promoting growth and success for all.

Applicants should show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a Board and a Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban.

Applications may be obtained at the district website beginning on October 4, 2024.

Completed applications may be turned in by 3pm October 14 to Jason Spang (jspang@mtpulaski.k12.il.us)

Qualifications to become a School Board Member are to:

  • Be a United States citizen Be at least 18 years of age

  • Be a resident of Illinois and District for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment

  • Be a registered voter

  • Not be a child sex offender

  • Not hold an incompatible public office

  • Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District

  • Not hold certain types of prohibited State or federal employment

The individual selected will serve on the School Board from November 20, 2024, until newly elected board members are seated based upon the results of the April 1, 2025 election.
