This,
however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs, who just
happened to be there too,
The Lincoln Community High School theatre department
is proud to present “PUFFS or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a
School of Magic and Magic” by Matt Cox on Oct. 11-13.
Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7 pm and Sunday will be
at 2 pm. All tickets are available at the door of the LCHS Auditorium.
This story is a tale loosely-based on a castle-shaped
school of magic that trains young wizards and is separated into four
teams. The teams showcased in The Puffs play are The Puffs, The
Braves, the Smarts, and the Snakes.
The Puffs are determined to not feel like secondary
characters in someone else’s story, and audience members will be
treated to a familiar adventure from a different perspective - three
new heroes just trying to make it through magic school themselves.
The trio of Puff friends, Wayne, Oliver and Megan,
are played by sophomore Ryne Manuel, sophomore Zack Eckhardt, and
freshman Starla Russell. The audience is assisted by narrator and
freshman Emersyn Keith, who helps to direct the audience attention
to the action, keep the years of magic school straight, and add a
bit of humorous side-eye throughout it all.
Additionally, the beloved characters from some other magical schools
appear as actors play multiple roles.

giddiness to this comedic piece for all its silly props and costumes
and whimsy.
“I love all the wizarding books, that shall not be named, and
thought it would be fun to do a parody of sorts but also to focus on
some of the characters that are often forgotten in books and
movies,” Follis said. “Everyone deserves to see their stories live
on stage.”
Set building was completed by Cody Follis with light design by
junior Alaina Bauer. Technical assistance is provided by sophomore
Arielle Rempe, junior Kami Battin, junior Aiden Wilson, freshman
Abby Newlun, junior Charlie Saffer, junior Marin Luckhart, and
