Obituary
Betty J. Deiss, 94, of Mason City
passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Mason
City Area Nursing Home. She was born on October 22,
1929 in Lincoln to Lloyd and Mary (Kauzlairich)
Havron, Sr. On September 5, 1949 in Lincoln she
married Orville Deiss he preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great
grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and
special friends John and Carol Witts. She was
preceded in death by her husband, daughter Susan
Rodgers, son Steven Deiss, 2 brothers and her
sister.
She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She
worked in Lincoln at the state school retiring in
1998. Betty enjoyed grocery shopping, garage
sailing, bowling and spending time with her dog
Riley.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday,
October 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Mason City Cemetery
with Fr. Joseph Dondanville officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pets Without
parents.
