WLB duo headed to State in Cross Country

[October 18, 2024]   Taylor Short and Piper Craig from West Lincoln Broadwell are on their way to the 2024 Girls Class 1A State Cross Country Meet this weekend.

Short, an 8th grader, finished first place overall and first individual in the Class 1A Sectional Meet at Eastview in Normal with a time of 12:19.

Craig, a 6th grader, placed fourth individual with a time of 14:55 at Sectionals.

The top seven individuals and the top three teams advance to State.

Short and Craig will compete this Saturday at Maxwell Park in Normal.

To make this even more special, the WLB Cross Country coaches are the moms: Angela Craig is the head coach and Chrissy Short is the assistant coach.

WLB will have a Cross Country assembly in the gym today at 1:45pm to give the girls a proper send-off.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
