Short brings home 3rd place medal at State in Cross Country

Taylor Short, an 8th grader from West Lincoln Broadwell, brought
home the third place medal in the 2024 IESA Girls Class 1A State
Cross Country Meet on Saturday at Maxwell Park in Normal.
Short knocked off about nineteen seconds from her sectional time, as
she ran the Maxwell Park course in a time of 12:00.33. Short’s PR
this season is 12:00 flat, according to Coach Angela Craig.
Taylor is also coached by her proud mom, Chrissy Short.
Piper Craig, a 6th grader from WLB, also beat her time at sectionals
but she did not medal at the state meet.

Craig finished in the 119th spot, out of 222 runners, with a time of
14:08.24.
