[October 22, 2024]  GLEN CARBON -  Nancy Louise (Trankar) Adcock, 80, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Brightly Senior Living in Glen Carbon.

Visitation: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, Chestnut

Service: 11 a.m. Monday at the church

Obituary

Nancy Louise (Trankar) Adcock, 80, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Brightly Senior Living in Glen Carbon.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, Chestnut with funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Laenna Cemetery,

Chestnut. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Nancy was born November 23, 1943, in Chicago, IL., the daughter of John Trankar and Lillie Mae (Underwood) Trankar. She graduated from Illinois State Normal University in June of 1966 with a teaching degree. Nancy worked for Country Insurance for several years, retiring January 5, 2007. She enjoyed quilting and made several beautiful quilts and wall hangings for family and friends. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Chestnut and the Quilters at Heart Quilt Guild. She enjoyed spending time with her friend group of fellow Country retirees and ate many Friday breakfasts at the Country Aire in Atlanta, IL. She loved her canine companion, Bailey.

Survivors include her daughters Erin Walters (Don), Melissa Adcock (Dan Goszewski), and Heather Sasse (Allen); grandchildren: Mara Walters, Grant Walters, Adam Walters, Tyler Sasse, and Peyton Sasse; brother Paul Trankar (Marian); and several extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son Christopher.

Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Chestnut or to St. Jude's Children's Research Center.
