Railers slip by Senators in regional opener

The Lincoln Railers volleyball team made things interesting on Tuesday night as they opened their 2024 postseason run with a three-set victory over the Springfield Senators in the Class 3A Regionals.

Lincoln dropped the first set 18-25 but came back to win the final two sets 25-20 and 25-21.

Peyton Sasse had a career-high 22 kills for Lincoln. Sasse also had 3 blocks.

Lauren Tedrick had 37 assists for the Railers.

Lily Holmes turned up the heat with 6 kills, 10 digs and 12 service points.

Jayden Behrends continues to improve with every game and she had 6 kills and 4 blocks.

Makia Hassebrock had 8 digs and Dabria Dalpoas added 10 service points.

The Railers improved to 21-15 on the season.

Lincoln (3) will play Chatham (2) Thursday at 6:00 p.m. for the regional championship at Roy S. Anderson.
