Obituary
Charlene Maple, 69, of Lincoln passed
away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at her home.
Charlene was born December 15, 1954, in Decatur, IL,
the daughter of Kenneth and Madeline (Walker). She
married Harry Maple on September 26, 1992, in
Decatur. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Charlene is survived by one sister, Julie Delbert;
brother-in-law, Leslie Maple; two nieces; Lindsay
and Tiffany Lemanczyk; and her dear longtime
friends, Kim Hall, Sandy DeLaughter, Barbie Sowers,
and the late Judy Vincent. She is also survived by
her beloved dog and companion, Mellow.
She was preceded in death by her parents and
husband, Harry.

Charlene was a faithful member of
Sonrise Fellowship Church in Lincoln. She enjoyed
spending time with friends and eating at Imo’s every
Friday. Her dog, Mellow, was always by her side.
Services for Charlene will be held at
10:00 am on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will take place the night prior on
Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
also at the funeral home. Burial will be held at
1:00 pm on Wednesday at Graceland Cemetery in
Decatur.
Memorials may be made in Charlene’s name to Sonrise
Fellowship Church in Lincoln.
