Obituary
Richard “Rick” Edward Conrady, 61, of
Hartsburg, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024,
at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
Rick was born October 31, 1962, in Lincoln, the son
of Earl T.F. and Frances H. (Schultz) Conrady. He
married Mary Hermes on November 20, 1993, in
Hartsburg.
Rick is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Dirk (Anna)
Conrady; granddaughter, Holland Kay Conrady;
brother-in-law, John Proefrock; five nieces, Brenda,
Monica, Ann, Mallary, and Melissa; two step-nieces,
Sarah and Jessica; and a nephew, Seth. He is also
survived by his father-in-law, Donald Hermes Sr.;
brother-in-law, Don (Mary Anne) Hermes; and his
sisters-in-law, Rebecca (Wayne) King and Jennifer
(Darren) Mitzelfelt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings,
William Conrady and Kay Proefrock; mother-in-law,
Ellen Hermes; sister-in-law, Venessa Hermes; and his
very best friend, Doug Ritterbush.
Rick was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Hartsburg, where he was a past council
member and president. He was a longtime farmer in
the Hartsburg area and served on the Emden Farmers
Grain board. Recently, Rick retired from the United
States Postal Service after 21 years. |
Rick enjoyed spending time at the
Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed boating and
being on the water with his friends. He was always
the life of the party providing all of the best
music. He and Mary enjoyed traveling together and
spending time with friends and family. Above all,
Rick loved his granddaughter, “Holly Dolly”.
A memorial service for Rick will be
held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at
St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hartsburg. Visitation
will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday,
September 6, 2024, also at the church. Burial will
follow the memorial service at Hartsburg Union
Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Rick’s name to St.
John’s Lutheran Church or Holland’s education fund
(c/o Mary Conrady).
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
