Railers volleyball team finishes 2-3 in Edwardsville tournament

The Railers volleyball team defeated Decatur Eisenhower and Freeburg in the 2024 Tiger Classic Volleyball Tournament in Edwardsville over the weekend.

The Railers were defeated by Dunlap, Breese Central and O’Fallon in the tournament to finish with a 2-3 record for the weekend.

On Friday night the Railers defeated Decatur Eisenhower 25-13 and 25-12.

Peyton Sasse led the Railers with 11 kills. Jayden Behrends added 7 kills.

In the late game Friday night, Dunlap defeated Lincoln in three sets, 25-13, 17-25 and 15-10 the scores.

Peyton Sasse led the team with 14 kills.

On Saturday Breese Central defeated Lincoln 25-23 and 25-15.

Peyton Sasse had 15 kills against Breese Central.

O’Fallon then defeated Lincoln 25-22 and 25-16 with Sasse leading the way with 11 kills.

Lily Holmes and Jayden Behrends each had 4 kills.

The Railers ended the tournament on a winning note, defeating Freeburg 25-23 and 25-23 Saturday afternoon.

Makia Hassebrock led the team with 9 kills.

Peyton Sasse had 8 kills and Jayden Behrends had 7 kills.

Lily Holmes had 3 kills and 3 aces.

Sasse added 3 blocks.

The Railers are 5-4 overall on the season.

Lincoln will host Rochester tonight at Roy S. Anderson Gymnasium.

Freshman at 5 p.m.

Junior Varsity at 6 p.m.

Varsity at 7 p.m.
