Lincoln finishes fourth in 2024 Hampton Inn Varsity Volleyball Tournament
Peyton Sasse records her 1,000th career kill

The Railers had a busy weekend on the volleyball court, finishing with a 3-2 record in the Hampton Inn Varsity Volleyball Tournament.

Lincoln defeated Bloomington Central Catholic in the first match on Friday night 15-25, 25-22 and 16-14.

Lincoln then defeated O’Fallon 26-24, 20-25 and 15-10 in the late game Friday night.

On Saturday morning Lincoln defeated Danville 25-7 and 25-11.

Lincoln advanced out of their pool in first place on Saturday but lost in bracket play to Normal West 25-16 and 25-19 and to Quincy Notre Dame 28-26 and 25-17.

During the match with Quincy Notre Dame on Saturday, senior Peyton Sasse earned her 1,000th kill of her LCHS career. She currently sits at 1,014 kills. The LCHS record is 1,026 kills.

Sasse was also named to the all-tournament team.

Normal West won the tournament for the third straight year, defeating Bloomington Central Catholic for the championship.
