Obituary
Ronald D. Howard, 78, of Elkhart,
passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the
Villas Senior Care in Sherman.
Ronald was born on May 2, 1946, in St. Joseph, MO,
the son of Alvin Neal and Lois Jean (Wales) Howard.
Ronald is survived by his children, Kelly (Tom)
Fortner, Jackie (Mark) Morrison, Ron L. (Stephanie)
Howard, Trevor Howard, and Billy (Marcia) Howard;
fifteen grandchildren; and his eleven
great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his
siblings, Larry Howard, Patty (Mike) Taylor, Duane
(Kathy) Howard, Billy (Karel) Howard, and Gina
Peters; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry
Michael Howard; and brother-in-law, Bob Peters.

Ronald was a truck driver for most of
his life. He enjoyed semis and earned the nickname
“Ram Rod and Driver”. When he wasn’t driving he
liked to watch western shows and Nascar. During his
younger years, Ronald spent time camping, boating,
and water skiing. As he got older, Ronald spent time
with family and friends; enjoying a nice cold one.
A private family burial will be held at Walnut Hill
Cemetery in Williamsville on October 4, 2024. A
celebration of Ronald’s life will take place on
October 5th.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
