[September 20, 2024]
The
City of Mt. Pulaski in coordination with the Tree Committee has
purchased 25 trees that will be available for planting on the City's
boulevard. The trees will be available to homeowners on a 1st come,
1st serve basis. One tree per residence this year.
A review of the proper amount of spacing for a tree
will then need to be determined.
Homeowners will need to agree to water the trees until the ground
freezes this Fall. The trees will also need to be mulched to help
them grow through the winter. Mulch will also be available for each
tree. The City will call JULIE and then dig the hole for the trees.
Planting will then take place sometime after Thanksgiving.
This is all in an effort by the Tree Committee & the City to replace
some of the trees that have had to be taken out over the past
several years.

If you have an interest in
getting a "Free Tree", stop by City Hall and fill out a Tree
Request form. You can complete the form drop it off at
City Hall or use the white dropbox in front of City Hall.
Someone from the Tree Committee will then contact you to
determine what space is available and discuss a species of tree
that might be suitable for your location.
