[September 28, 2024]  MIDDLETOWN -  John Irvin Tripplett Sr., 86, of Middletown, passed away September 27, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.
 

Visitation: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral

Additional time of visitation one hour prior to the funeral

Service: 11 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, at Middletown Presbyterian Church

Obituary

John Irvin Tripplett Sr., 86, of Middletown, passed away September 27, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, at Middletown Presbyterian Church with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.

John was born October 15, 1937, in Kenney, IL., the son of Otis George Tripplett and Jessie (Beeler) Tripplett. He married Alberta (Williams) on June 7, 1959. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. John worked for Massey Ferguson for 10 years, Caterpillar for 30 years, and Auto Zone for 20 years. He was always fixing or junking cars. He enjoyed square dancing.

Survivors include his wife Alberta Tripplett, children: John Tripplett Jr. (Jeannie), Alicia Sparks, and Thomas Tripplett (Kelly); grandchildren: Stephanie Orr ( John), Derek Sparks, Daniel Sparks ( Sarah), Dustin Sparks, Elizabeth Tripplett, Victoria Tripplett, and Andrew Landers; Great Grandchildren: David, Emily, Donovan, Levi, Owen, Payton, Deanna, and Debra; siblings: Ivan Tripplett (Joann), Rose Szabrowicz (Ben), and Marilyn Bell (Jim); several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant siblings, sister Joy Stone, brother Jim Tripplett, son in law Danny Sparks, and 2 infant grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Middletown Fire and Rescue or to Middletown Presbyterian Church.
