A tip by Emma Eeten tied the set 8-8 and the Stags eventually took a 14-10 lead after Hopkins served an ace. Cross kept the Stags in front 15-11 with another one of her tips that caused trouble for the Mount Pulaski defense. Mount Pulaski kept hustling and took advantage of a few errors by the Stags, finding themselves right back in the ballgame with an 18-18 score. Smith’s kill for Mount Pulaski kept the game knotted at 20 apiece before the Stags ran off a quick three points thanks to a kill from the middle by Eeten, a kill from the outside by Addi Briggs and a block by Cross. Smith snuck in one more kill for the Lady Toppers before a net call on Mount Pulaski and an ace by Sadie Williams ended the set with a 25-21 win by Hartsburg-Emden.
