Kwame Raoul appeared at the City Club of Chicago Tuesday to
address his ongoing efforts to resist executive orders coming
				from President Donald Trump.
During a question-and-answer session, Raoul said Trump is
breaking the law with many of his executive orders.

“One of the things that has to happen in the system of
government is that it has to be lawful and be consistent with
our constitution and it’s got to be consistent with the laws
that Congress has laid out, and he’s chosen to, with many of
these executive orders, ignore both,” said Raoul.

Raoul has joined several lawsuits with other states in an effort
to overturn some of Trump’s orders, including the dismantling of
the U.S. Department of Education and to block an executive order
barring the recognition of birthright citizenship for people
born in the U.S. to non-citizen parents.

Raoul is asking for additional funding for his office as it
takes on the host of lawsuits and legal filings against Trump.

Trump signed another executive order this week aimed at ending
ticket price gouging for live entertainment. Recording artist
Kid Rock, who has lobbied for such legislation for years, was on
hand at the White House for the signing.

“I’d like to take my ticket prices lower, but if I set my ticket
prices low, these bots immediately eat them up and they resell
for hundreds of dollars more and I’m just making these bad
				actors rich,” he said.

Raoul, along with 20 other Democratic attorney generals, have
penned an open letter calling for unity in the legal profession
against what they claim is the Trump administration's
retaliation against attorneys and law firms that have brought
				cases against the administration.
