Run-scoring singles by Karson Komnick and
Griffin Shaw in the bottom of the first inning accounted for the
Railsplitters first two runs of the game.
In the top of the fourth inning the Spartans tied the game on
two RBI singles.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Owen Comstock and Ashton
Corley each drew walks and after two outs, Lucas hit the
go-ahead run in with a single to right. Drew Hayes followed with
an RBI single in the next at-bat and Parker Graue copied that.
Graue’s single to right scored Lucas with the final
Railsplitters run of the game.
An RBI single in the top of the seventh by the Spartans did
little damage and Lincoln captured the 5-3 victory with Karson
Komnick closing the game with a strikeout for the win.
Komnick picked up the win after working three innings in relief.
He allowed six hits and one run. He struck out three batters.
Bryce Vlahovich started the game for Lincoln. He worked four
innings, allowing five hits and two runs. He walked three and
struck out seven batters.
Drew Hayes and Austin Lucas each recorded two hits for Lincoln.
Parker Graue, Karson Komnick and Griffin Shaw each had one hit.
After a 7-0 loss and a 10-8 loss on Saturday to Eureka and an
8-2 loss Monday night to Monticello, it was nice for the
Railsplitters to get back on track with a win.
Lincoln’s record improves to 3-5 on the season.
Lincoln is scheduled to travel to Jacksonville today for a 4:30
p.m. start. [Teena Lowery]
