Obituary
Carol Kay Berger, 77, of Lincoln
passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 at HSHS St.
John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Carol was born on August 22, 1947 in Peoria, IL.,
the daughter of Byron E. and Loretta E. (O’Connor)
Jones. She married Steven Landers on July 16, 1966
in Lincoln, IL. They later divorced and he passed
away in 2006. She married Michael Berger on
September 9, 1983. He survives.
Carol is also survived by her children, Tami
Brumfield, Jodie (Janet) Landers, Stephanie Rocco,
Teresa (Eric) Baker, Aaron (Erin Limestall) Landers,
and Amber (Kristen) Landers; bonus children, Ramon
Gonzales, and Amy Vannoy; grandchildren, Connor
Baker, Paisley Baker, Isaiah Baker, Aiden Landers,
Kenny Gray, and multiple bonus grandchildren; and
her sisters, Connie Zurkammer and Nancy Huskins.
Carol enjoyed playing Bingo, gambling, watching
plenty of reality tv and listening to Elvis Presley.
She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
#2708 for many years. Anyone who had the privilege
of knowing Carol truly understands what a great
person she was. Her generosity and caring nature
knew no bounds, leaving a lasting impression on
everyone around her. Most of all, she loved spending
quality time with her family. |

She is preceded in death by her
parents; daughter, Ashley Marie Landers; her
siblings, Sharon Lee Sullivan, Judy Ollis, Donald
Jones, and Byron Jones; and son-in-law Phil Rocco.
Funeral Services for Carol will be held at 10:00 am
on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on
Wednesday April 9, 2025 also at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Holy Cross
Cemetery in Lincoln, IL. Donations can be made to
the family in ℅ Stephanie Rocco to assist with
expenses.
