Limestone stops Railsplitters 6-4

[April 12, 2025]  The Limestone Rockets escaped Lincoln Friday evening with a 6-4 win at Mike Curry Field.

Three singles in the first inning were a good start to the game for Lincoln. Jadyn Gulley’s RBI single put Lincoln on the board, up 1-0.

Limestone tied the game in the second inning on a passed ball.

In the top of the third inning the Rockets jumped in front 4-1.

The visitors led 5-1 when Lincoln came to bat in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Kyle Koehler scored a run on a triple by Ashton Corley to make the score 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Lincoln added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Four singles produced one run as the Railsplitters left the bases loaded to end the inning. Griffin Shaw drove in the only run of the inning with a single to center.

The Rockets scored again in their half of the seventh inning, making the score 6-3.

Lincoln tried to rally in the bottom of the seventh inning, but only scored one run after three singles and a fielder’s choice.

Parker Graue took the loss for Lincoln. He worked six and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and six runs. Only three runs were earned. He walked four and struck out five.

Austin Lucas pitched one-third of an inning, allowing one hit.

Lincoln out-hit Limestone 12-10.

Corley, Lucas, Hayes and Gulley each had two hits.

Graue, Komnick, Shaw and Koehler each collected one hit.

The Railsplitters fall to 3-9 on the season with the loss.

Lincoln will host Prairie Central today at 11:00 a.m.
