Service:  A celebration of Wendell’s life will be held at a later date.

Wendell L. Monday, 70, of Middletown, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at his home.

Wendell was born May 28, 1955, in Liberty, KY, the son of Wilburn and Velton (Hamm) Monday.

Wendell is survived by his children, Wendy (Justin Altman) Monday, Kyle Monday, and Diane (Travis Dodson) Monday; and his grandson, Orion Monday.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Monday. He was the last of his immediate family.

Wendell liked collecting wolf knick-knacks and completing puzzles. He enjoyed working in the yard, woodworking, watching wrestling, and sitting on his neighbors’ porch visiting. Most of all, Wendell loved spending time with his family.

 

The family would like to especially thank the staff at both St. John’s Hospital and HSHS Hospice for the loving care they showed Wendell in his final months. They also greatly appreciate the assistance of the Middletown Rescue Squad over the past several months.

A celebration of Wendell’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Wendell’s memory to the family (℅ Wendy Monday) to help with expenses. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
