[August 16, 2025]  LINCOLN - JoDee K. “Toad” (Newton) Lyons, 59, of Lincoln, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL, with her beloved daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Visitation:  Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10 - 11 a.m. at Open Arms Church in Lincoln.

Service:  Saturday, August 30, 2025, from at 11 a.m. at the church.

Lincoln - JoDee K. “Toad” (Newton) Lyons, 59, of Lincoln, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL, with her beloved daughter and son-in-law by her side.

JoDee was born May 6th, 1966, in Lincoln, daughter of Richard and Beulah Newton.

JoDee married Don Lyons, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He preceded her in death in 2024.

JoDee is survived by her only child, Jamaica Madigan; son-in-law, Thomas Madigan; adored grandchildren, Wyatt and Kaylynn; seventeen nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and many brothers and sisters in Christ. Family was paramount to JoDee, and she had the most loving heart towards them.

JoDee was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Tamara, Holly, and Crystal. She was the last of her immediate family.

JoDee was a determined, hardworking servant of God. She had many careers beginning at 16, with her final career, caring for the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis in their retirement.

JoDee was a member of Open Arms Lincoln and loved serving alongside her husband and church family during community events.

A memorial service for JoDee will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, Open Arms Lincoln. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM also at the church. Memorials may be made in JoDee’s memory to Open Arms Church in Lincoln. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
