Obituary
Robert E. Kurtz passed away on August
22, 2025, at the age of 78 at Mason City Area
Nursing Home.
Robert was born on June 21, 1947, in Lincoln,
Illinois to his parents Raymond Carl Kurtz and Marie
Henriette (Schimdt) Kurtz. Most individuals knew him
by his nickname “Tiny”. He graduated from Lincoln
Community High School in 1965. He worked at the
local box factory for 47 years and retired at the
age of 65.
He was a Life Member of the Loyal Order of the
Moose. He served in different officer positions of
the Lincoln Moose Lodge 1441 and was a Past
Governor. During the time he served as governor of
the lodge he received the Governor’s Merit Award and
earned a Fellowship Degree and was a member of the
25 Club.
When he was able. He enjoyed bowling at the local
bowling alley and going on bowling trips with his
friends to the Annual Moose International Bowling
Tournaments across the United States and Canada. He
was a sports fan of the Green Bay Packers and
Chicago Cubs. |
Robert was preceded in death by his
parents, and older brother William H. Kurtz.
He is survived by his brother Thomas R. Kurtz.
A private burial will be held at New Union Cemetery
in Lincoln, IL. Cremation rites have been entrusted
to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln
