[December 01, 2025]  LINCOLN - Richard “Dick” Allen Skelton, 85, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Visitation:  Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Service:  Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Obituary

Richard “Dick” Allen Skelton, 85, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Dick was born May 10, 1940, in Middletown, IL, the son of Richard and Mabel (Wilson) Skelton. He married Debra Parr on May 5, 1984, in Lincoln. She survives.

Dick is also survived by his children, Rickey (Rhonda) Skelton and Ronald (Kim) Skelton; his grandchildren, Lesley (Chris) Wilson, Lindsey (Trent) Kavelman, and Tyler (Ana) Skelton; his great-grandchildren, Karter and Louie Kavelman, Bennett, Brielle, and Penelope Wilson; his siblings, Kelly (Rick) Hoffert, Jackie Poole, Carol Renfro, Rusty (Stacie) Skelton, and Tim (Judy) Skelton. Additionally, Dick is survived by his special friend & brother-in-law, Ernie Hoffert; and his beloved poodle, Lacey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Deany Baker, Kasey Brooks, Debbie Frakes, Cheryl Himes, Ruth Ann Hoffert, Syb Liesman, Sharon Marcum, Andrew “Joe” Skelton, Billy Dale Skelton, David “Pip” Skelton, Jerry Skelton, Patsy Skelton, and Jenny Stout.

Funeral services for Dick will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will take place the night prior, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Richmond Grove Cemetery in New Holland. Memorials may be made in Dick’s name to Logan County Animal Rescue or James T. Dove Endowment Foundation.
