[December 10, 2025]  JONESBORO — Thomas Raymond “PaPa Chip” Clampet, of Jonesboro, passed away December 5, 2025. He was born December 5, 1951 in Du Quoin, the son of Richard and Genevieve (Presswood) Clampet.

Service: A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Thomas Raymond “PaPa Chip” Clampet, of Jonesboro, passed away December 5, 2025. He was born December 5, 1951 in Du Quoin, the son of Richard and Genevieve (Presswood) Clampet.

Tom married Judy Swinford in 1980. She survives, including children, Richard Clampet of Jonesboro, Curtis (Emily) Clampet of Lincoln, Ollie Clampet of Springfield; stepchildren, Eric (Angelique) Wolpert of Emden, Sheila (Jessie) Lohnes of Jonesboro; sisters, Brenda (Willy) Rentmeister of Mount Pulaski and Nancy Knope of Pinckneyville; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Doug and Richard Clampet; granddaughter, Shelby Boyer; and nephew, John Rentmeister.

Tom was an Army Veteran. He worked and retired from St. Gobain Glass. Tom was a simple man, loving simple things. He loved his kids, grandkids, family and many friends. He was a stranger to no one.

Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching sports, especially NASCAR’S Denny Hamlin, Gunsmoke and all old westerns, and of course his Natural Light Beer.

Tom will be greatly missed by his wife, loved ones and many friends. He has been placed in the hands of Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home for his cremation.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
