Richard Brian “Rick” Hoefle, 72, of Lincoln, IL., passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Rick was born on March 17, 1953, in Freeport, IL., the son of Russell and Maevis (Covington) Hoefle. He married Leslie Campbell in 1983 in Lincoln, IL. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2019.

Rick is survived by his two daughters, Lauren (Kelly) Sutton and Tera Hoefle; his granddaughter, Everleigh Davis; one brother, Timothy (Cathy) Hoefle; three sister-in-laws: Teresa (Jim) Campbell-Smith, Angela Mahler, Debra (Allen) Krueger; brother-in-law, Tony Sanders; and most of all his faithful canine companion, Prince.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leslie; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Judy and Cliff Perkins; one sister, Susan Saladino; his niece, Amy Dikkers; brother-in-law, Doug Mahler, and his beloved dogs, Anna and Gunther.

Rick lived a full life of food, running, Hawaii, international trips, and bourbon. We love him so much. In the tireless spirit of our dad, we ask that everyone please remember to give back and make each moment count.

Funeral Services are currently pending. Memorials may be made in Rick’s memory to the Logan County Humane Society. Cremation has been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
