Obituary

Florine M. Hazard went to Heaven on Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. She was born on September 5, 1925 in Natrona, Illinois to John George and Katie H. (Jibben) Rademacker. Katie died on December 21, 1928. Her father later married Helen Weiss, who became a very important part of Florine’s life. She married Marvin L. Ingersoll at the Salem Methodist Church on June 4, 1944. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1993. She later married William R. Hazard in March, 1994. He died on Mat 7, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Hilda, a daughter-in-law Connie Ingersoll, grandson Joseph G Ingersoll, brothers Melvin and Donald (Betty) Rademacker, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Faye Cunningham.

Surviving are two daughters: Linda Kay (W. Michael) McCreery and Gina Ann (Bryan) Lemme of Mason City; three sons: Rodney (Sara) Ingersoll of San Jose, Joseph D (Debra) Ingersoll, and Brian A Ingersoll of Mason City; 10 grandchildren: Michael Shane (Katheryn) McCreery, Ryan C. (Kara) McCreery, Michael (Devon) Ingersoll, Steven Ingersoll, Jennifer Ingersoll Klepfer, John Ingersoll, Austin Ingersoll, Logan (Shaina) Ingersoll, Katlya Lemme and Mark (Alyssa) Lemme; fifteen great grandchildren: Mason, Laurel, Brynn, Knox McCreery, Jake, Kate, Rachel Herrin, Gunner and Reyna Klepfer, Clayton Dixon, Brady and Julia Ingersoll, Alayna Lemme, Spencer Shrick, and Camille Ingersoll; three great-great grandchildren: Isaac and Serenity Dixon and Nala Ingersoll. Florine is survived by one brother Fred (Gayle) Rademacker of Green Valley, sister-in-law Ruth Rademacker of Peoria, and several special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Florine worked for Caterpillar in Peoria after graduating from San Jose High School. Later in life she worked for Johnson’s Super Valu and Oney’s Foods in Mason City. Florine was an outgoing friendly person. She enjoyed playing cards with her club and was known for her creative talents. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing special-occasion dresses for her daughters, dance costumes and American Doll clothing. She relaxed by doing needlework, quilting and crocheting baby blankets and throws, generously sharing with family and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the San Jose United Methodist Church, Services beginning at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Reverend Charles McDonald officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City.
