The Wolverines defeated Hartsburg-Emden 50-22
to win the 7th Grade Sectional Championship on Monday night in
Lincoln.
WLB is making their third consecutive trip to the 7th Grade
Class 1A State Tournament.
On Monday night Kruz Froebe led WLB with 22 points.
Griffen Cross added 21 points for the Wolverines.
The scoring was complete with seven points from Colby Bowman.
The Wolverines finished the first quarter with a 20-5 lead over
the Stags. Froebe and Cross each had eight points in the first
quarter.
By halftime the WLB lead was 38-11.
At the end of the third quarter WLB was running away with the
game, 45-18 the score.
The 50-22 win sends the Wolverines to State.
Meanwhile the Stags finished a terrific season with a 19-6
record.
WLB (26-1) will play Peoria St. Jude (23-2) on Saturday,
February 8, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. The winner will play at 6:30 p.m.
