Obituary
Dorothy Alice Dinger, 81, of
Decatur, passed away February 2, 2025 at Fairhaven
Senior Living Center, Decatur.
Cremation rites have been provided by Holland Barry
& Bennett Funeral Home. A celebration of life will
be held at a later date.
Dorothy was born January 19, 1944, in Niantic, IL.,
the daughter of George Dewey Embrey and Alice
Isabelle (Young). She married Richard Dinger in
1980. He preceded her in death in 2000. She enjoyed
playing cards, bingo, and poker machines and making
candy with her grandkids. She was formerly employed
in the cafeteria at Lincoln Christian College.
Survivors include her children Tina Embrey and
Michael Hall, grandchildren Jami Embrey and Jesse
(Heidi) Embrey, great grandchildren Parker and
Scarlet; and several nieces, nephews,cousins,and
extend family members.

She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, and siblings: Stella Witts,
Margaret (Peg) Mathias, Linda Collins, John Embrey,
Robert Embrey, Roger Embrey, Charlotte Conner, Tom
Embrey, and George Embrey.
Memorial donations may be made to the family in care
of Tina Embrey.
