[February 05, 2025]  The Lady Railers traveled to Mahomet on Tuesday night and Lincoln was impressive from the start, shutting down the Bulldogs early and winning 54-30.

Lincoln continues to play excellent defense and that was a huge factor in the win.

Three Lady Railers scoring in double-figures was also key.

With the Bulldogs defense all over Mia Clark like a dirty shirt, the offense fell on the shoulders of Makinley Knapp, Mesa McCloud and Piper Whiteman. Knapp and McCloud each led the team with 18 points while Whiteman knocked down 12 points.

Lincoln surprised the Bulldogs with a 7-0 run to start the game. With the Lady Railers spending a lot of time at the free throw line early, the lead was 13-3 when the quarter ended. Knapp and McCloud had the only field goals for Lincoln as the rest of the scoring was from the charity stripe.

Whiteman and McCloud added 3s in the second quarter and the Lincoln defense continued to force the Bulldogs into making bad shot selections. When halftime was reached, the Lady Railers were on top 25-9.

McCloud was in a groove versus the Bulldogs and she kept the net ablaze with three more 3s in the third quarter. Whiteman hit another three here and with Knapp and Clark each tossing in a bucket the Lady Railers were enjoying a 43-17 lead.

Knapp had another all-around fantastic game and she didn’t seem to mind all the traffic that surrounded her in the lane. She poured in six more points in the fourth quarter. McCloud hit another three before she exited the game, bringing her total to six 3s on the night.

The ladies' hard work paid off with a 54-30 win over Mahomet-Seymour.

Lincoln improved to 15-11 on the season.
