LINCOLN, IL – Heartland Bank and Trust Company
has announced applications are being accepted for the 2025 Iva Mae
Blaum Trust Scholarship. This scholarship is available to Logan
County residents who are graduating high school seniors pursuing a
bachelor’s degree in agriculture or nursing.
The scholarship, given in memory of Arthur B. Blaum and Iva Mae
Blaum, is a renewable award designed to fill the gap between billed
tuition and any other scholarships or grants awarded to the student.
Each semester’s award may not exceed the base tuition rate at the
University of Illinois, Champaign. The scholarship is paid directly
to the student’s chosen institution of higher education and is
renewable up to eight semesters if the student continues to pursue
an agriculture or nursing degree, completes 12 or more credit hours
per semester and maintains at least a 3.0 GPA.
Iva Mae Blaum was a graduate of Deaconess Hospital of Lincoln and
retired from Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in 1985 after 46
years of service.

Applications for the 2025 Iva Mae
Blaum Scholarship are available from local high school guidance
at Lincoln Community High School, Mt. Pulaski High School,
Hartsburg Emden High School and Olympia High School. Or students
may request an application via email from Marty Orris at mjorris@hbtbank.com
or by calling 309-664-8921.
Only electronic submissions will be accepted this
year. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Applications and essays must be submitted in PDF format and emailed
to Marty Orris, vice president and senior wealth advisor.
