[February 05, 2025]  LINCOLN, IL — The Lincoln Heritage Museum is offering a free cup of coffee and a cookie on your way to work or school, on Wednesday, February 12, from 8 to 10 AM.

The refreshments are in celebration of what would be Abraham Lincoln’s 216th birthday. The 16th president was born near Hodgenville, Kentucky on February 12, 1809.

In addition to the treats, guests can also sit and enjoy reading a book on Lincoln, or create a happy birthday card for Abe, or view the first-floor artifacts.

Visitors can view an assortment of handmade birthday cards sent from around the world to Lincoln’s Springfield home to commemorate the 200th anniversary of his birthday in 2009.

To further appreciate the appeal of Lincoln 216 years after his birth, for that day only guests can view a unique display from the collections of the Museum vault. This exhibit will showcase various odd artistic interpretations of Abraham Lincoln, as well as fascinating and kitschy ways that Abraham Lincoln’s name and image have been commercially used and appropriated to sell and promote products through the years.

Visitors can enter to win a free gift courtesy of the Museum.

Entry to the Museum is free during those hours.

The regular hours for the Lincoln Heritage Museum are 9-4 Tuesday through Friday, and 1-4 on Saturdays. The Museum is located at 1115 Nicholson Road in Lincoln, Illinois.
