[January 31, 2025]  ELKHART - William W. “Bill” Benner II, 60, of Elkhart, IL, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at his home.

Visitation:  Monday, February 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lincoln Christian Church in Lincoln

Service:  on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. also at the church

Obituary

William W. “Bill” Benner II, 60, of Elkhart, IL, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at his home.

Bill was born August 20, 1964, in Lincoln, IL, the son of William W. Benner I and Barbara Anne Cosby.

Bill is survived by his mother, Barbara (Rodney) Oltmanns, of Elkhart, IL; children, Elizabeth (Adam) Pritchard of Tallahassee, FL, Jordan Benner of Lincoln, IL, Hunter Sherman of Edwardsville, IL, and Maison (Lauren) Sherman of Lincoln, IL; three grandchildren, Ellie, one on the way, grandson Pritchard both of Tallahassee, FL, and Leighton Benner of Lincoln, IL; and his sister, Kathleen Benner of Williamsville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Benner I.

Bill was a retired farmer and crop advisor. He was a member of the NRA, Pheasants Forever, and the Sons of the American Legion Post #32.

Funeral services for Bill will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Lincoln Christian Church in Lincoln. Visitation will take place the night prior on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm also at the church. Burial will follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be made in Bill’s name to Harvest of Talents at Lincoln Christian Church or The American Legion Post #32 of Springfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
