[February 19, 2025]  LINCOLN - Daniel L. “Dan” Ormond, 66, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his home.

Visitation:  Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln.

Service:  Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the church

Obituary

Daniel L. “Dan” Ormond, 66, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his home.

Dan was born December 10, 1958, in Quincy, IL, the son of Bernard and Marian (Cramsey) Ormond. He married Toni D. Myers in 1977.

Dan is survived by his wife, Toni; his children, Matthew Ormond and Rebekah Ormond (Cody Kauffman); five grandchildren, Dean, Hunter, Gavin, Dylan, and Duke; and his siblings, Bernard Ormond Jr., Larry (Penny) Ormond, Mark Ormond, Tammy (Denny) Kauffman, Samuel (Beth) Ormond, Nicki Field, and Joseph (Dawn) Ormond.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joshua Ormond; sister-in-law, Kathy Ormond; and grandson, Holland Ormond.

Dan was an honorary dismantler by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard due to his recycling and donation efforts for the hungry. He umpired for the IHSA for 20 years, donated platelets for over 15 years, and served as pastor of Colmar Christian Church for 24 years.

His favorite and least favorite day of the year was the annual all day golf outing with his brothers, nephews, and friends. On the day of the outing, Dan was excited but then was sad to have to wait another year to enjoy it again.

Funeral services for Dan will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln. Visitation will take place the night prior, Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm also at the church. Burial will follow the services at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Dan to Harvest of Talents at Lincoln Christian Church, The American Red Cross, or Lincoln Christian University.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
