[February 20, 2025]  Dear Editor:

As we approach the Primary Election on February 25, 2025, I would ask the voters of the City of Lincoln to look at the record of incumbent Mayor Tracy Welch. He became Mayor at a very difficult time in our history—the Covid-19 pandemic. Since that time, he has never stopped working with dedication and persistent effort to improve our City in numerous ways. He is also an innovative thinker who consistently examines the issues facing the City and works to find solutions to problems while also seeking to improve the quality of life for our residents. He also works to make our City a welcoming place for visitors, new residents and new businesses.

He works well with those of us who are also privileged to serve as elected officials as well as the Chiefs, department heads and other City employees, other units of government and outside vendors. Team effort is an important component of success and Mayor Welch has repeatedly demonstrated the willingness to seek input from others while seeking solutions to problems and developing plans for future projects.

You may have read or heard various allegations leveled against Mayor Welch from another mayoral candidate who is also a litigant in a pending legal matter against the City. As someone who, as an elected official has witnessed first-hand, the events and was present during the period in which these alleged misdeeds occurred, I can say unequivocally that these accusations are simply not accurate. It is unfortunate that someone would make such allegations when the record clearly indicates their inaccuracy.
Election Day is only a few days from now. Please remember to vote to re-elect Mayor Tracy Welch to continue the good work he has been doing for us all.

Respectfully Submitted,
Charles N. (Chuck) Conzo
