[February 20, 2025]    Lincolnland Technical Education Center (LTEC) is proud to announce Griffin Shaw as the Student of the Month for February. Griffin, a dedicated student in the Welding program, has demonstrated outstanding commitment, work ethic, and a passion for his craft, earning him this well-deserved recognition.

Griffin is the son of Brad and Jen Shaw. He enrolled in the Welding program to gain more hands-on experience and refine his skills in preparation for a career in the welding industry. His aspirations include becoming a pipe welder or fabricator and he plans to attend a trade school to further his education in the field.

Outside of LTEC, Griffin is an active member of his high school baseball team. In his free time he enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors. When asked about his favorite aspects of the Welding program, Griffin highlighted the opportunity to learn from an instructor with real-world experience and the hands-on learning environment.

Welding Instructor, Jay Akers selected Griffin for this honor noting his punctuality, politeness, and strong interpersonal skills. “Griffin has a great work ethic and always does what is asked of him,” said Akers. “He is constantly looking ahead to the next assignment, showing initiative and dedication to his craft.”

As part of this recognition, Griffin received a $50 award from the Rotary Club of Lincoln, which proudly sponsors the Student of the Month program.
