[February 21, 2025]  MT. PULASKI - Sandra Kay “Sandy” Mayer, 69, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Visitation:  Monday, February 24, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski

Service:  Tuesday, February 25, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home

Obituary

Sandra Kay “Sandy” Mayer, 69, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Sandy was born December 10, 1955, in Lincoln, IL. The daughter of Dean and Barb (Subblett) Boyer. She married Robert L. Mayer on May 6th, 1978 in Lincoln, IL. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2006.

Sandy is survived by her children, Nick (Rachel) Mayer, and Natalie Mayer (Fiance: Brad McLaughlin); her two grandchildren, Layla and Ethan; her brother, Gary Boyer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Sandy worked in medical records at Family Medical Center in Lincoln and retired from there in 2016. She loved everything about crafts, and always looked forward to making crafts for Christmas on Vinegar Hill in Mt. Pulaski every year. She also enjoyed shopping, especially at Hobby Lobby and Kohl’s. Most of all, Sandy loved spending time with her grandchildren, Layla and Ethan, and her “fur grand baby”: Boo Boo.

Funeral services for Sandy will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski, IL. Visitation will take place from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, February 24, 2025 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, IL. Memorial donations may be made in Sandy’s name to Mt. Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
