Obituary
Brenda Jean Lexes, 69, of Lincoln,
passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her
home.

Brenda was born March 8, 1955, and raised in West
Texas, the daughter of JL and Lilly Mae Whitlock
Brooks. She was a southern belle through and
through.
She is survived by her children: Michael David
Lexes, Brandie (Mark Cisco) Lexes, Shannon Boykin,
Kenneth (Lavender) Lexes. Four grandchildren:
Nikalaos Lexes, Joshua Boykin, Michael Boykin and
Wesley Boykin. Great grandchildren: Alena Lexes,
Hanna, Lyla, Levi, Lukas, Melody Boykin. One sister:
Shirley Driver. Love of her life Charlie Ryden.
She was preceded by her parents, one brother: Archie
“Bud” Brooks, three sisters: Ruby Brooks, Liddy
Morris and Mary Redford.
She was employed at the Vonderlieth Living Center in
Mt. Pulaski, but Brenda had a diverse and
accomplished career, excelling as a bookkeeper,
computer programmer, IT technician, and later as the
owner and operator of R&B Pilot Car Service. Her
dedication and adaptability allowed her to thrive in
multiple fields throughout her life.
Beyond her professional achievements,
Brenda was known for her kind heart and giving
nature. She had an infectious smile that could
brighten any room and a thoughtful spirit that made
those around her feel valued and cared for. |

Her warmth extended into many hobbies
she found joy in crocheting, reading, and listening
to books, tending to plants and gardening, making
candy, baking, cooking, and listening to music. Each
of these passions reflected her creativity and love
for bringing comfort to others.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who
knew her. May she be remembered for the kindness she
shared and the love she gave so freely.
