At the Monday, January 6th meeting of
the Lincoln City Council, aldermen welcomed one new police patrolman
and one new fire fighter into the employ of the city.
Sworn into duty by City Attorney John Hoblit, James Hopper is the
newest member of the Lincoln Police Department.
Second to be sworn in was fire fighter Kolytn Grant.
Both men were congratulated by Lincoln’s Mayor Tracy Welch, elected
officers and city aldermen along with their respective supervisors
Lincoln Police Chief Joe Meister and Fire Chief Ty Johnson.

Each year in January, Lincoln Daily
News takes a look back at the year that was in both articles and
photos.
The year is divided into quarters with staff Karen Castelein, Devyn
Fry, Chassidy White and Jeff Wyles being asked to choose their
favorite pictures for one quarter of the year.
Not only does this divide the responsibility but it also allows our
staff to show readers what they find interesting on a personal
level.
The first quarter of 2024 was
designated to Devyn who chose her favorite 10 photos from January
through the end of March.
Devyn loves animals, so it is no wonder that six of her ten photos
had something to do with animals in some shape or form.
