Mount Pulaski defeated Lincolnwood 50-22 on
Saturday afternoon with junior Alyson Murphy and sophomore
Addison Brown combining for 35 of the Lady Toppers points.
Murphy led all scorers with 22 points and Brown tossed in 13
points.
Brown’s nine points in the first quarter helped Mount Pulaski to
a 17-12 lead.
By halftime Mount Pulaski led 26-16.
Mount Pulaski’s defense continued to hold Lincolnwood to
single-digit scoring and after the third quarter the Lady
Toppers garnered a 36-20 lead.
Coach Ryan McVickers’ team gave up a single field goal in the
fourth quarter to Lincolnwood, while in return going 10-for-10
from the free throw line and collecting two field goals.
Alyson Murphy was 6-for-6 from the free throw line in that
fourth quarter as Mount Pulaski got back in the win column with
the 50-22 victory.
Mount Pulaski improved to 11-5 on the season.
