			 This 
			year there are eight students in the program. They are Peyton Bunner, 
			Adalyn Reed, Finley Hewitt, Cheyenne Medrano, Kyle Koehler, Ivy Sandel, Alek Claudio, all students of Lincoln Community High School 
			and Kennedy McCree, a student at Hartsburg-Emden High School. 
			 
			LDN staff met with the students to speak on a variety of topics 
			centered around advertising, marketing, public relations and 
			utilization of press releases.

			LDN Co-owner and Director of Advertising Karen Castelein spoke to 
			the group about marketing themselves and their businesses not just 
			in the class program but in their future endeavors. She spoke about 
			being present in the community and making a name for themselves as 
			community focused individuals is a part of marketing not only who 
			they are, but the businesses they may one day represent. 
			
			
			  
			
			LDN Advertising specialist Chassidy White address 
			information specific to Lincoln Daily News, starting with how she 
			utilizes Google Analytic to show customers the reach LDN has in the 
			community. She shared facts, figures and graphs showing that LDN is 
			widely read and that the time an individual viewer spends on the LDN 
			website is more than double the national average. 
			 
			Castelein and White together explained the advertising options that 
			are available through LDN and spoke about the value of the ad based 
			on the number of daily readers are exposed to those ads.

			LDN Co-owner and General Manager Nila Smith, along 
			with Production and Content Manager Jeff Wyles spoke about public 
			relations and the importance of utilizing free dissemination of 
			information through press releases and other options such as 
			community calendars. 
			 
			Also pitching in on the discussions was LDN’s graphic artist Devyn 
			Fry who spoke about use of AI but also offered some advise about 
			utilizing as many dual credit courses as are available while in high 
			school in order to streamline their higher education. 
			 
			At the end of the day, Castelein and Smith spoke about owning a 
			small business in Lincoln, offered a tour of the office and shared 
			with students the need to be prepared for the unexpected when taking 
			on a new business.  
			 
			At the end of the visit, each of the students and the facilitator 
			received a swag bag courtesy of LDN.
